THE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF WONDER

Come and join me as I turn four volumes of Journey Through Bookland into a whole host of different books, everything from a Traveller's Notebook planner to a mixed media journal. By the end of this course you will be able to turn your own thrift store finds into magical journals full of possibility.

The first book we will make is a Traveller's Notebook journal, designed to hold six A5 dot grid inserts and two folders. I will show you how to deconstruct the book, create the binding, and even where to find the inserts. We will finish by making our own folders and decorating the notebook and the spine of our planner.

 We all love a no-sew binding. In this class I will walk you through my favourite no-sew method, and share everything that can go wrong when you try one in an existing book, so yours goes beautifully right.

Now we turn to traditional pamphlet binding to create a beautiful commonplace book, a place to hold recipes, family moments, memories of trips, and so much more.

 Turning old books into mixed media journals is perhaps my favourite thing of all. Thrift store finds, and especially encyclopedias, make the perfect base to build on. In this class we will decorate the cover and use a range of techniques to prep the pages inside. Come with paint and a willingness to get your hands dirty, and we will have so much fun.
